On Wednesday (1/11/2024), the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta received a visit from Boarding School Batu Al-Hikmah as part of their study tour. The event took place in the Seminar Room at FISIP UPNVY, 3rd floor of Agus Salim Building, and was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at FISIP UPNVY, Dr. Hastho Joko Nur Utomo, M.Si.
During two hours of lively discussion, Dr. Hastho explained the four undergraduate programs available at FISIP UPNVY and the future career prospects after graduation. The participants' enthusiasm was shown by the questions asked from the students. One question came from Nadhif, who inquired, "Please explain, sir, and why do we have to write an undergraduate thesis to graduate from college?"
Dr. Hastho clarified that the undergraduate thesis is a final assignment in the form of a scientific work based on students' research in their respective academic fields. However, it is not the only requirement for graduating from the undergraduate program at UPNVY, students can also write a more concise scientific journal.
The teacher from Boarding School Batu Al-Hikmah explained that the purpose of this visit is to introduce their students to the world of higher education. "We want to acquaint students with the college environment so that they have an idea when they graduate from high school. Alhamdulillah, the students are enthusiastic about asking questions."
FISIP UPNVY welcomed this visit and hopes to provide an overview of the college experience. Dr. Hastho said, "We look forward to welcoming these students back to FISIP UPNVY next year as our students, so they can experience the excitement of college life."
