Two FISIP UPN Veteran Yogyakarta Lecturers Earn Doctorate Degrees

Yogyakarta – Exciting news comes from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science (FISIP) of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta. Two of its distinguished lecturers, Dr. Anik Yuniarti, M.Si., from the International Relations Department, and Dr. Yenni Sri Utami, M.Si., from the Public Relations Study Program in the Communication Science Department, have successfully earned their doctoral degrees after completing their Ph.D. studies at leading universities in Indonesia.

Dr. Anik Yuniarti, M.Si., completed her doctoral studies in the Doctoral Program in Politics and Government at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science, Gadjah Mada University (UGM). In her dissertation titled “Transnationalization of the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC): A Study of the Diffusion of APSC Ideas in Indonesia's Foreign Policy,” she examined how the concept of APSC is disseminated and adopted in Indonesia's foreign policy. This research provides new insights into Indonesia's role in the political and security dynamics of Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, Dr. Yenni Sri Utami, M.Si., earned her doctoral degree from the Doctoral Program in Communication Science at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Science, Sebelas Maret University (UNS) in Surakarta. She successfully defended her dissertation titled “Communication Negotiation Among Stakeholders in Tourism Development: A Conversational Analysis of Stakeholder Communication in the Collaboration of Tourism Development in the Mangunan Tourist Area, Bantul Regency.” Her research highlights how effective communication among various stakeholders can strengthen cooperation in developing the tourism sector. With this achievement, Dr. Yenni Sri Utami further deepens her expertise in the field of tourism communication.

Dr. Yenni Sri Utami officially received her doctoral degree after successfully passing the open defense held on February 6, 2025, with the distinction of "very satisfactory." She also marked her name as the 17th doctoral graduate from the Communication Science Doctoral Program at UNS.

The success of these two lecturers from FISIP UPN Veteran Yogyakarta is a testament to the institution's commitment to enhancing the quality of its teaching staff. With these outstanding academic achievements, it is hoped that both will contribute even more significantly to the advancement of knowledge and the improvement of educational quality within the campus environment.
