Dean’s Message
Welcome to the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year.
A new semester always brings new hope—hope for growth, maturity, and more meaningful achievements. At the beginning of this semester, I warmly greet the entire academic community of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta, with gratitude and optimism.
To our students, higher education is not merely a place to earn a degree, but a space for personal and intellectual formation. It is where critical thinking is sharpened, social awareness is nurtured, and the responsibility of becoming young intellectuals is learned. Embrace every academic process with enthusiasm, discipline, and integrity. Do not focus solely on outcomes; value the process as an essential journey toward intellectual and moral maturity. May this semester bring you not only achievements, but also meaningful experiences and wisdom.
To our lecturers, the responsibility you carry is a responsibility to civilization itself. A lecturer is not only a transmitter of knowledge, but an educator who instills values, morality, ethics, and character. Through teaching, mentoring, and scholarly dialogue, lecturers guide students as they navigate the search for identity toward intellectual maturity and personal integrity. This noble role demands exemplary conduct, sincerity, and a commitment that must be continually renewed.
To our educational staff, your role is the vital pulse that sustains the academic system. Professional, friendly, and solution-oriented services form the first impression of our institution for students and the public. Let us continue to uphold the spirit of service excellence—working with precision, empathy, and responsibility—because trust and academic comfort grow from high-quality services.
At present, FISIP UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta has declared its commitment to the Integrity Zone. This is not merely a regulatory requirement, but a moral and institutional commitment to building governance that is clean, professional, transparent, and accountable. The Integrity Zone calls for consistency between the values we proclaim and the practices we apply in our daily academic and administrative activities.
This commitment is aligned with FISIP’s motto, AKSI—Anti-Gratification, Struggle, Synergy, and Innovation. Anti-gratification reflects ethical integrity; struggle represents the spirit of dedication; synergy signifies the collective awareness that progress is achieved together; and innovation embodies the courage to adapt and go beyond established routines. AKSI is not just a slogan—it is a set of values that must live within our academic and organizational culture.
Finally, let us welcome this even semester with open minds, collaborative spirit, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement—both personally and institutionally. Through togetherness, integrity, and dedication, I believe that FISIP UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta will continue to grow as a faculty of excellence, strong character, and meaningful contribution to society and the nation.
Happy learning, teaching, and serving.
May every effort we undertake be meaningful and create a positive and lasting impact.
