FISIP UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta organized a socialization event for FISIP students as a follow-up step to the collaboration between UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, and UPN "Veteran" East Java. This socialization was held on August 11, 2022, virtually through a Zoom meeting. The purpose of this socialization was to motivate students to contribute to this student exchange program, which will be conducted in the odd semester of 2022-2023.
This student exchange program aims to provide students with the opportunity to study at other universities. Additionally, students participating in this program are expected to enhance their soft skills and academic abilities. The different environment also prepares students to interact competitively and cooperatively. Indirectly, this program will enable students to implement nationalistic values by socializing in a new environment.
The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hastho Joko Nur Utomo, M.Si., mentioned that FISIP students who meet the qualifications can participate in this student exchange program: at least in the 3rd semester, with a minimum GPA of 3.30, have organizational experience, have written permission from parents, and have a commitment to participate in this program for one semester. Students who will participate in this program will be selected by the department chair or program coordinator at the department or program level. Selection is carried out through both interviews and administrative procedures.
As explained by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. Asep Saepudin, M.Si., this program will support its students with funding that covers transportation, living expenses, and accommodation. There is no need to worry because students will be accompanied by their supervising lecturers until they reach the destination campus.
