The Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta, Dr. Susanta, M.Si., attended the Congress of the Forum of Deans of Social Sciences (Fordekiis) held at Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, from September 4 to 6, 2025. The event brought together deans and vice deans from faculties of social sciences across public universities in Indonesia.
The congress began on Friday, September 5, 2025, with registration and a welcoming session at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya. The main agenda took place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, featuring reports from the previous board, discussions on the organization’s statutes and bylaws (AD/ART), and the election of a new executive board of Fordekiis.
During the congress, Dr. Wawan Mas’udi, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fisipol UGM), was elected as the new Chair of Fordekiis for the 2025–2027 term. The leadership transition marks a strategic opportunity to strengthen collaboration among faculties of social sciences nationwide while reaffirming the crucial role of social sciences in understanding and responding to contemporary societal changes.
Dean Dr. Susanta emphasized that his participation in Fordekiis reflects a commitment to academic leadership and inter-university collaboration. “Joining a forum like Fordekiis is not merely ceremonial; it is a strategic platform to expand scholarly influence, strengthen the faculty’s position at the national level, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of knowledge and the quality of higher education in Indonesia,” he stated.
Through active participation in Fordekiis, FISIP UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta reaffirms its role as part of a national academic community dedicated to excellence, collaboration, and integrity in shaping the future of social science education in Indonesia.
Following the congress, the new Fordekiis board was officially inaugurated at the Auditorium of Fisipol UGM on Monday, October 6, 2025, attended by 41 deans from universities across Indonesia.
