Peace be upon us all,
Om Swastiastu, Namo Buddhaya, and Salam Pancasila.

 

With deep gratitude and a strong sense of national pride, I warmly welcome the new students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta, for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. You are the chosen generation entrusted to continue the intellectual journey within our Bela Negara campus—a home for critical thinkers, resilient learners, and the social innovators of the future.

University life is not merely an academic process to earn a degree; it is a transformative journey to discover and develop the best version of yourself. Here, you will sharpen your intellect, broaden your horizons, shape your character, and test your values through dialogue, reflection, and concrete action. This journey will not always be easy, yet it is precisely through challenges that your strength will be forged.

This August also marks a historic moment for all of us, as we celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. In the spirit of independence, let us remember that freedom is not the end of struggle, but a call to continue creating, thinking critically, and acting ethically for the advancement of our nation.

The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences must stand at the forefront—pioneering social innovation, safeguarding democratic values, and preserving the very foundations of national life. Our campus must remain a safe space for the freedom of thought and a living laboratory for creating solutions to the complex social challenges of our time.

To all lecturers and academic staff, I extend my highest appreciation for your dedication and professionalism in guiding, serving, and fostering a humanistic, dynamic, and inclusive academic atmosphere. Continue to be a source of inspiration for our students, and together let us provide the best service for meaningful and transformative education.
