FISIP UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta Runs ICT Program for Three Semesters

Yogyakarta — Since the odd semester of 2024/2025, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta has been operating an International Credit Transfer (ICT) program as a concrete expression of the university’s and faculty’s internationalization vision. After three semesters, this program has delivered encouraging results and provided real benefits to students, faculty, and international partners.

The ICT program involves students from various international universities who attend online courses offered by FISIP UPNVY. The courses offered cover areas such as business administration, international relations, communication studies, and public relations. This academic collaboration enables cross-border exchange of ideas and enriches the global perspectives of participating students.

Over the course of three semesters (from the 2024/2025 odd semester to the most recent), numerous partner universities have participated. Some of these include Tomsk State University (Russia), National Research Tomsk State University (Russia), Tarlac Agricultural University (Philippines), Sultan Kudarat State University (Philippines), and others.

The benefits of this initiative are varied. First, students gain multicultural learning experiences and international networks, strengthening both their academic and professional competencies. Second, FISIP faculty receive opportunities for collaborative teaching and module development with international partners, thereby enhancing the faculty’s curricular capacity. Third, the faculty’s international reputation is elevated, demonstrating that it can deliver global learning in a digital format.

Looking ahead, FISIP UPNVY plans to expand the ICT program’s reach by adding more partner universities, offering a wider variety of courses, and integrating hybrid formats (campus + online) when conditions allow. The faculty is also developing mechanisms for continuous evaluation and feedback from students and international partners to further improve ICT quality.

With the continued success of the ICT program, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta shows that the vision of internationalization is not just a slogan but a real implementation in academic processes — opening doors for students to global experiences and strengthening the faculty’s position on the international stage.
